Terry Tselane
Chief Executive Officer
Terry excelled at high school and decided to pursue a qualification in education at the University of the North West, South Africa. He acquired his BA Honours Degree in 1989 at the University of Witwatersrand.
Terry's leadership role span over many years in the liberation struggle and as a student activist during the apartheid years. He served in various capacities as a Student Leader and Community Worker. He was elected the President of the Black Students Society at Wits University and later elected the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Convocation. Terry also served in various leadership roles as a member of the Council of Wits University.
Terry was appointed the Chief Executive of Gauteng Tourism Authority in 2001, a position he held till 2005. During this period he created a very strong partnership with the Tourism Industry through the creation of the Gauteng Tourism Forum and also created and elevated the profile of tourism in Gauteng by boosting the international tourist arrivals to 57% in 2002.
Terry is currently the Chief Executive of Gauteng Film Commission - a provincial screen agency based in South Africa's media, broadcast and production capital, Johannesburg. Since joining the organization he has instituted various strategies to develop and promote Gauteng as a leading location and production hub.
