Permits

Filming on any civic or municipal property in Gauteng requires permission from the local authority concerned. Permissions must also be obtained for filming within an enclosed location, on all roads, streets or sidewalks. We recommend that permissions be applied for at least 14 working days before the filming is due to commence.

The Gauteng Film Commission also offers listings of location scouts, location managers and international facilitation companies who offer services securing private locations as well as working with the appropriate authorities to secure public permission.
